Created in collaboration with Huldra's Blood Clothing, these bookmarks are perfectly sized to keep your place in your favorite Hyldyr tome while displaying a rune of your choice. They are one of a kind and come in an option of white silk embroidery on black linen, black silk embroidery on black linen, or black silk embroidery on natural nettle fabric. These color ways are consistent on the front and back of the bookmarks.
We chose to work with nettle as a textile as it is one of the nine plants in the Old English Nine Plants Spell. Vibrantly animistic and remarkably hypnotic, Nigon Wyrta Galdor (the Nine Plants Spell) is an Old English healing galdor that invokes nine personified plants and the pagan god Woden to defeat an unknown malady represented as a serpent.
We also wanted to offer a black textile option, which we found in linen, which is another natural, biodegradable material with a long history of use.
