We chose to work with nettle as a textile as it is one of the nine plants in the Old English Nine Plants Spell. Vibrantly animistic and remarkably hypnotic, Nigon Wyrta Galdor (the Nine Plants Spell) is an Old English healing galdor that invokes nine personified plants and the pagan god Woden to defeat an unknown malady represented as a serpent.
